This file includes instructions for the Paradox Spectra 1728, 1728EX, 1738, 1738EX panels using LED and LCD keypads.

arming/disarming

Regular arming

Enter your Access Code. If you have access to both partitions buttons 1 and 2 will flash. Press the button corresponding to the desired partition. For both partitions, press the other button after the 'Confirmation Beep'.

stay arming

Press the STAY key, then enter your Access Code. If you have access to both partitions buttons 1 and 2 will flash. Press the button corresponding to the desired partition. For both partitions, press the other button after the 'Confirmation Beep'.

Force arming

Used to automatically bypass all open zones and arm the remaining zones

Press the FORCE key, then enter your Access Code. If you have access to both partitions buttons 1 and 2 will flash. Press the button corresponding to the desired partition. For both partitions, press the other button after the 'Confirmation Beep'.

disarming

Enter your Access Code. If you have access to both partitions buttons 1 and 2 will flash. Press the button corresponding to the desired partition. For both partitions, press the other button after the 'Confirmation Beep'.

BYPASSING

1.Press the BYP key, then enter the Access Code

If you have access to both partitions, press the button for the corresponding partition, 1, or 2

2.Enter 2-digit Zone Number  

With a LCD keypad you can scroll through the zones with the Up Arrow and Down Arrow keys, then Press the BYP key to bypass currently displayed zone.

3. Press the ENTER key to exit

To remove the Bypass feature from a zone, in Step 2 re-enter the 2-digit Zone Number of the desired zone or press the BYP key when the bypassed zone appears on the screen.

Helpful Tip

Bypassed zones are automatically cancelled each time the system is disarmed and must be bypassed again, if required, before the next arming.The Fire zone can not be bypassed.

DOOR CHIME

1.Press & hold the 9 button for 3 seconds

2.Illuminate the numbers corresponding to the zones you want to Chime by entering the 2-digit Zone Number. For example, to Chime zone 2 enter 0 then 2.

Or, with an LCD keypad, use the Up Arrow/Down Arrow keys to view the zones and press the FNC1 button when the desired zone appears on the screen.

3.Press the ENTER key to save & exit.

Keypad Muting

When muted the keypad will only emit  the confirmation beep, the rejection beep, and beep when a key is pressed.

To mute, or unmute the keypad, press and hold the CLEAR key for 3 seconds.

alarm MEMORY

LED Keypads

If an alarm has occurred on a zone, the MEM button will illuminate.

1.After disarming the system, press the MEM key to illuminate the keys corresponding to the zones that were in alarm.

2. To exit the Alarm Memory Display, press the CLEAR key.

LCD keypads

If an alarm has occurred on a zone, "Zone(s) in Memory [MEM] to view" will appear on the LCD screen.

1.After disarming the system, press the MEM key.

2.Use the Up Arrow or Down Arrow keys to view the zones that were in alarm.

3.To exit the Alarm Memory Display, press the CLEAR key.

TROUBLE CONditions

Press TRBL button to silence trouble beeping.

1.Pressing TRBL key will also display numbers that correspond to trouble conditions

When using and LCD keypad, use the Up Arrow and Down Arrow keys to view the Trouble(s)

2.Press CLEAR to exit trouble menu

        The Trouble conditions are as follows

1.Low Battery

2.Wireless Transmitter Low Battery

3.Ac Power Failure

4.Bell/PGM2 Disconnected Trouble

5.Bell Current Failure

6.Aux Power Fail

7.Communication Failure

8.Time Loss

9.Tamper/Zone Wiring Failure

10. Telephone Line Monitoring Failure

11. Fire Zone Trouble

12. Module Loss

13. Wireless Transmitter Supervision Loss

14. Keypad Fault

programming the system TIME

1.Press the ENTER key

2.Enter the MASTER CODE

3.Enter 100

4.Enter the desired Time, in 24-hour clock format, with 2 digits for the hour and 2 digits for the minutes. Example: 6:15PM = 18:15

5.Press the CLEAR key

Access codes

It is highly recommended that all requests for assistance with access codes be referred to the dealer!

adding/changing access codes

1.Press the ENTER key

2.Enter your Master Code

3.Enter 3-digit User Number (001 for System Master or 004-047 for standard User Codes)

4.Enter the new Access Code

5.Press the CLEAR key to exit

Proceed With Caution

Take special care when changing the Master Code. Errors changing the Master Code will likely require a service call from a technician to correct.The Master Code can not be deleted.

deleting access codes

1.Repeat steps 1 - 3 above

2.Press the FORCE key once for each digit in the Access Code until the keypad emits a confirmation beep

3.Press the CLEAR key to exit
