Helpful Tip

The ON/OFF button on the RP1CAe2 works the same as the ENTER button on the K1CA

The FUNCTION button on the RP1CAe2 works the same as the MENU button on the K1CA

The INTERIOR button on the RP1CAe2 works the same as the STAY button on the K1CA

THE INSTANT button on the RP1CAe2 works the same as the AWAY button on the K1CA

ARMING/DISARMING (Non-Partitioned)

Away ARMING

1.Check to see that the green 'Status' light is lit.

2.Enter the Arm/Disarm Code, and then press the ON/OFF key.

Note: If you enter an incorrect code the keypad will display 'Invalid Entry, Try Again'. Re-enter a correct code immediately.

Stay Arming (Interior Zone Bypass)

This feature must be enabled by the dealer. Bypasses zones designated as Interior Zones.

1.Press the INTERIOR Button.

2.Enter your Arm/Disarm Code and press the ON/OFF button.

Note: your system may have provisions for two separate groups of interior zones, if so...

Press the INTERIOR button once, followed by the ON/OFF button to bypass group One.

Press the INTERIOR button twice, followed by the ON/OFF button to bypass group Two.

Press the INTERIOR button 3 times, followed by the ON/OFF button to bypass both groups One and Two.

DISARMING

Enter your Arm/Disarm Code , then press the ON/OFF button to disarm.

Note: If you enter an incorrect code the keypad  will beep 4 times signifying an error. Re-enter a correct code immediately.

ARMING/DISARMING (Partitioned)

To Arm Any Area

Code must be valid in the area in question

1.Press the Numerical Key representing the area number.

2.Press the * button, then the ON/OFF button. The keypad will now provide status and control of that area.

3.Enter your Arm/Disarm Code, then press the ON/OFF button to arm that area

4.Press * followed by the ON/OFF button to return to the home area.

To Arm All Areas

1.Press the 9 button.

2.Press the * button.

3.Enter your Arm/Disarm Code, then press the ON/OFF button.

Note: If any zone is not secured, the keypad will display, 'CAN'T ARM SYSTEM/AREA # IN TROUBLE', where '#' identifies the area number. All problem zones must be secured or bypassed before the area can be armed. If a System Trouble is indicated, the system may not be armed using this method.

Disarming All Areas

1.Press the 0 button

2.Press the * button

3.Enter your Arm/Disarm Code, then press the ON/OFF button.

BYPASSING

With the system disarmed.

1.Press BYPASS button .

2.Enter the Zone Number of the zone to be bypassed.

Reset Function

Pressing the RESET button resets various System Troubles, Displays, etc. Resets residential smoke detector.

Resetting Fire Alarms/Fire Troubles

1.Press the RESET button to silence the sounder.

2.If there is no evidence of a fire, enter your Arm/Disarm Code then press ON/OFF to turn off the alarm.

3.After the alarm condition is corrected, pressing RESET again will reset the keypad.

If the fire zone has reset properly the 'FIRE' icon should go out in about 20 seconds. If it does not go out, press RESET again in a few minutes. If it still does not go out, call for service.

Silencing an alarm / Alarm Memory

1.To silence an audible alarm, enter your Arm/Disarm Code, and then press ON/OFF button

2.When the system is first disarmed after an alarm event, the keypad will display 'ALARM' followed by the zones violated.

3.To reset the display, note the zones violated, then press the RESET button.

DOOR CHIME

Note: Displayed messages are two lines long. Press the * key to display the second line.

1.Enter an Arm/Disarm Code.

2.Press the FUNCTION button.

3.Press the INSTANT button until the message 'ACTIVATE.../CHIME Y/N' is displayed.

4.Press the INTERIOR button to select this option.

5.To return to normal keypad operation, press the RESET button.

Note: To deactivate the chime follow the same procedure.

TROUBLE CONDITIONS

Note: Displayed messages are two lines long. Press the * key to display the second line.

1.Enter an Arm/Disarm Code.

2.Press the FUNCTION button.

3.Press the INSTANT button until the message 'DISPLAY.../SYS TRB Y/N' is displayed.

4.Press the INTERIOR button to select this option.

A 1 or 2 digit error code will be displayed. See the 'System Trouble Error Codes' section of manual for descriptions

5.If there is more than one active system trouble, they will scroll on the display until RESET is pressed.

6.To return to normal keypad operation, press the RESET button.

PROGRAMMING ACCESS CODES

In systems with multiple keypads, only keypad #1 may be used to program codes.

Programming/Changing Codes

1.Enter your Arm/Disarm Code then press FUNCTION key to enter Function Mode.

2.Answer NO (Press the INSTANT button) until you see the message 'ACTIVATE PROGRAM Y/N'

Note: If you accidentally scroll past this selection, you can press the BYPASS button scroll back

3.Press the INTERIOR button.

4.Enter the 3-Digit User Number you wish to program, then hit the FUNCTION key twice.

5.Enter the new User Code (up to 6 digits).

6.Press the ON/OFF key to save the new code.

Note: Duplicate codes are not allowed, therefore a duplicate code entered in the LCD window will disappear when ON/OFF is pressed.

7.Repeat steps 4 - 6 for each additional code to be programmed.

Erasing Codes

1.Enter your Arm/Disarm Code then press FUNCTION key to enter Function Mode.

2.Answer NO (Press the INSTANT button) until you see the message 'ACTIVATE PROGRAM Y/N'.

Note: If you accidentally scroll past this selection, you can press the BYPASS button scroll back

3.Press the INTERIOR button.

4.Enter the 3-Digit User Number you wish to program, then hit the FUNCTION key twice.

5.Press *0 for each digit of the code to be erased (e.g. to erase a 4 digit code, enter *0 *0 *0 *0)

6.Press the ON/OFF key to save changes.

Exiting User Program Mode

When you are done programming or erasing user codes, press RESET to exit User Program Mode.
